We can't get everything right the 1st time. So we're unlocking the Date Range feature, for the 30 day trail period of the TracKingDays App. This will be available shortly in version 1.0.2. We think this will improve the usability of the Unlocked App version.
The 'Date Range' is found a the top of the History Screen and is a key feature of TracKingDays. It allows you to set any Date Range from your tracked days, to quickly review where your were between your chosen two dates.
So, for UK expats, you can set the date range from April 6th to April 5th in a given tax year, to see your UK days and then Export those days from the Settings page.
USA Expats can review 12 month periods.
Whilst Snowbirds and frequent visitors to the USA can review Days spent in the USA from the current and previous years, this is important for the Substantial presence test which requires visitors to not spend more than 180 days in the USA over a 3 year period to avoid becoming a Tax Resident. The cumulative 180 days is calculated by taking all of the days from the current year. 1/3 of the days from the previous year, and 1/6 of the days from 2 years previous.
TracKingDays can easily retrieve this information once you have used it for three consecutive years.
